lodging

Lodging differs by camp. At Wide Sky, you’ll sleep in a waterproof, individual canvas tent. You’ll have a cot, pillow, rug, and lantern provided for you, as well as a cozy wool blanket. Just bring your sleeping bag, and we’ll cover the rest! Nearby to your tent you’ll have potable water access, snacks and drinks, a beautiful outdoor shower with wooden walls and great water pressure, and the best outhouse experience of your life (we’re not kidding).

Physical requirements

The riding that we do at Cowgirl Camp is not your average nose-to-tail trail ride. As such, for everyone’s safety, we require that attendees have the balance and strength to mount their horse from a mounting block without further assistance. This will involve swinging a leg up and over the saddle, and landing with control. The movement is akin to being able to get on and off a bicycle unassisted. We need you to be able to do this from both sides.

Due to our smaller framed quarter horses, we also have a weight limit of 240 lbs per rider. (We know this is a bummer.) Horses should not carry more than 20% of their body weights including tack. Thank you for understanding! These physical requirements are for you and the horse’s safety.

food

All meals will be prepared for you by our caterers and served buffet style featuring primarily local protein and plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables. We are vegetarian friendly, but we celebrate ranch raised protein in our meals, so be aware of that!

Sample breakfast:

Scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, berries,
granola, pastry, orange juice, coffee + tea

Sample lunch

Caesar salad with Little Creek lamb tzatziki burgers,
chips + fruit

Sample dinner

Little Creek steaks on the grill topped with chimichurri,
kale salad, potatoes au gratin, asparagus, and apple pie

We do our best to accommodate dietary allergies (gluten free, dairy free), and provide plenty of variety. But we cannot accommodate everything. Please check in with us about special dietary needs. (And please leave preferences or aversions at home!)

drink

Coffee, tea, water + seltzer will be stocked. Alcoholic beverages are BYO. We can stop along the way for anything you need prior to arriving at the ranch.
